HUMAN INTEREST
Doornberg won a gold medal with Team BC at the 2009 Canada Summer Games. Playing for the Delta Heat, she won a bronze medal at the 2006 Canadian Bantam Girls Championship. She also placed fifth at the 2007 Midget Girls Championship as a member of the White Rock Renegades, and ran the 20 Yard Shuttle in 4.56 seconds at the skills competition that year, while also being named All-Star second baseman. Her team also won the Sidewinders U18 Gold Tournament in 2007. Previously, she had won speed competitions in several different tournaments.

PERSONAL
Doornberg attends and currently plays for the University of Mississippi. She would like to work in the field of engineering, and states Canada as her favorite country. Her favourite athlete is her hometown hero, fellow Women’s National Team Member Danielle Lawrie.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
Doornberg’s Great Aunt competed in the 1936 Summer Olympic Games in Berlin. Her favorite musician is Brad Paisley. In her spare time, Doornberg enjoys snowboarding and soccer. Her favorite quote is, “Play hard, practice harder.”
