HUMAN INTEREST

HIGHLIGHTS
Lawrie recently graduated from the University of Washington, where she led the Huskies to the 2009 Women’s College World Series Title and won back-to-back NCAA Player of the Year award in 2009 and 2010, being the only Canadian athlete to have won that award. Lawrie was named MVP of the 2005 Canadian Championships as the White Rock Renegades captured a silver medal, and helped Team BC win a gold medal at the 2005 Canada Summer Games. She also represented Canada at numerous events, including the 2003 ISF VII Jr. Women’s World Championship, the 2005 ISF XI Women’s World Championship, and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

PERSONAL
Lawrie was Washington's first Canadian born player and she would like to pursue a career in sports broadcasting. Her brother, Brett, was a first round pick (16th overall) of the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008, and was a member of the 2008 Canadian National Junior Baseball Team and Olympic Team.
