HIGHLIGHTS Matthews graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2008, and was part of its softball team when they won the gold medal in the NAIA National Championships in 2005 and the silver medal in 2004. She led the NAIA in batting average, runs per game, doubles per game, homeruns per game, slugging percentage and total bases per game in 2008. Matthews participated in five Canadian Championships and received the highest batting award in 2000 and was named to the All-Star team in 2004.
PERSONAL Matthews completed a degree in Business and Finance at Simon Fraser University and aspires to become a financial advisor. Her father, Marty Matthews, was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION Matthews enjoys spending her free time on the golf course or playing with her dog Cuddles. Her favorite athlete is Trevor Linden.
