Play: R2, 2 out, ball hit to 2nd who throws to first but base ump does not see 1st standing on foul/orange portion of 1st., calls BR out. R2 scores after the call out at 1st. Offence appeals play at first. Base ump confides with plate ump and changes call to safe. Offence is happy. Defence is not. Plate ump allows run to count and BR at 1st.

Rule 10-6 d
The umpire should not allow R2 to score and should return the R2 to third base. Rule 10-6 d says the umpires may rectify any situation, which places the runner, batter runner, or defensive team at a disadvantage due to a reversal of an umpire`s call or delayed call by the umpire. The appeal created a reversal and a delayed call. The defensive team would not make an attempt on R2 scoring because of the original out call.
