Team Canada Ready to Compete at 2014 Home Run Sports Border Battle

(Kitchener, ON) The Canadian Men’s Slo-Pitch Team is ready to compete at the 2014 Home Run Sports Border Battle, which will consist of a series of exhibition games at Peter Hallman Ballyard in Kitchener, ON from July 24 to 26 leading up to the sixth edition of the Border Battle between Team Canada and Team USA which will take place at 4:00pm EDT on Saturday, July 26.

This will be the first time the event is held in Canada, and it will feature a total of seven teams competing in an exhibition tournament preceding the annual Border Battle game. In addition to Team Canada and Team USA, other teams competing will be the Canada Selects, USA Futures, Team Europe, Quebec Pharmapar and the Home Run Sports All-stars.
At the inaugural Border Battle held in 2009, the United States defeated Canada by a score of 30-23 before Canada evened the series with a thrilling 30-29 victory the following year. USA dominated the third game by a score of 25-3 in 2011, and earned a 32-21 victory in 2012 before winning the fifth edition 25-10 last summer.
