Team Canada Ready for 2013 Men’s Slo-Pitch Border Battle

(Oklahoma City, OK) The Canadian Men’s Slo-Pitch Team will take on Team USA in the fifth edition of the Men’s Slo-Pitch Border Battle in Oklahoma City at noon CDT today (live on ESPN3). Both teams have played a series of exhibition games in Oklahoma City to prepare for the one-game showdown, which will feature the best male Slo-Pitch players in North America. The Men’s Slo-Pitch Border Battle will air on TSN2 on Sunday, July 14 at 6:00pm EDT.

At the inaugural Border Battle in 2009, the United States defeated Canada by a score of 30-23. The following year, Canada bounced back with a thrilling 30-29 victory before USA dominated the third game by a score of 25-3 in 2011. Last summer, Canada jumped out to an 18-4 lead, but the Americans responded with a 20 run inning and went on to take the 32-21 victory.

In exhibition games earlier this week, Canada defeated J & R Logistics 21-14 and lost 25-10 to the United States on Tuesday, and then defeated the USA Futures Team 18-17 and Falloutsports.com 26-24 on Wednesday.
