The first set of identification camps for the Junior and Senior Women's National Team will take place in Brampton, ON this week.

(Athletes Born in 1996-98)

The first of three regional camps will be held June 14-15 in Brampton, Ontario. The purpose of this camp is to identify athletes who are interested in representing Canada on Softball Canada's Junior Women’s National team in 2015.

The Junior Women's National Team Identification Camp will begin on Saturday, June 14th at Duggan Fields in Brampton, ON and is only open to players who have REGISTERED for the camp. Pitchers and catchers will arrive at 8:00am while position players will arrive at 8:30am. Pitchers and catchers will warm up and complete position-specific testing while other athletes are arriving. It will be a long day, with camp scheduled to end around 7:30pm. While there is a break for lunch it is recommended that you come prepared with snacks and lots of water to get you through the day. Also, please make sure you are prepared for the weather.

The camp will continue on Sunday, June 15th.

(Athletes Born 1995 or Before)

The first of two regional camps will be held June 11-14 in Brampton, Ontario. The purpose of this camp is to identify athletes who will represent Canada at the ISF Senior Women’s World Championship in Haarlem, Netherlands from August 15-24, 2014.

The Senior Women's National Team Identification Camp will begin Wednesday, June 11th at the Brampton Fairgrounds and is only open to players who have REGISTERED for the camp. In case of inclement weather, there will be an alternate indoor venue for fitness testing located at The Den in Mississauga.

Players are divided into two groups, with the first group arriving at 9:30am and conducting fitness testing from 10:00am to 11:30am. The second group will arrive at 11:00am and will conduct fitness testing from 11:30am to 1:00pm. The afternoon session will include baserunning, drills and positional testing for both groups.

The second day of camp will feature batting practice from 12:00pm to 1:30pm followed by intersquad games from 2:15pm to 5:00pm. The coaching staff will then determine if any cuts will be made or not.

The third and fourth days of camp will be comprised of small group work, intersquad games and/or situational games. The camp will wrap up on Saturday evening.
