Pan American Championship - Women

(Maracay, Venezuela) – The Canadian Senior Women’s National Team, fresh off a Silver medal finish at the Canada Cup and a Bronze medal at the KFC World Cup of Softball, will open its Pan American Championship schedule tomorrow when they will take on Argentina (9:30am EDT). The event will run from July 31st to August 9th in Maracay, Venezuela where 22 teams will vie for qualifying berths for the 2010 ISF XII Women’s World Championships and for the 2011 Pan American Games.
The United States have an automatic berth to the 2010 ISF XII Women’s World Championship as the host country of the event, which will take place in Oklahoma City, OK. The five other top teams from the Pan American Championships will secure a spot for the event.
As host of the 2011 Pan American Games, Mexico receives an automatic berth for that event, with the seven top teams (excluding Mexico) from the Pan American Championship earning a spot for that event.
The athletes who will represent Canada at the Pan American Championship in Maracay, Venezuela from July 31st to August 9th are:
