Tri Nations Cup Preview

Team Canada is ready to roll at Tri Nations Cup (Kitchener, ON) The Senior Womens National Softball Team will continue its journey towards the Beijing Olympic Games tonight as they will compete on home soil at the Kitchener Pioneers Lions Road to Beijing Tri Nations Cup in Kitchener, ON from July 6-8. The event will feature Team Australia (ranked third in the world), Team Japan (second) and the Canadian National Team (fifth). Canada is coming off a 1-0 exhibition game win over Venezuela on July 1st in Brampton, and recently completed their Pro Tour with a 9-3 record.
Canada will open the event against Australia tomorrow night, July 6th (7:00pm EDT), before taking on Japan on Monday, July 7th (8:30pm CDT). The second and third place teams will compete at 4:00pm on July 8th and the winner of that game will move on to face the first place team at 6:00pm in the Championships game.
Sunday nights game against Australia will be of particular interest, as children who go to the ballpark wearing their baseball/softball jersey will be admitted for $2. Also, the Rowbust Dragon Boat team from London, ON will be on hand to raise money for breast cancer research. This charitable organization previously partnered with Team Canada at the OKC Olympic Preview last month.
