ISF Jr. Men's Worlds - Game 3

(Parana, Argentina) The Canadian Junior Men`s National Team earned their second win of the ISF IX Junior Men’s World Championship with a 4-0 win over Croatia. Canadian pitchers Cole Bolton (Flinton, OB) and Ty Sebastian (Brussels, ON) combined to throw a one-hitter and struck out 14 batters. Sebastian added a two-run double in the victory.
Team Canada opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning when Adam Stuck (Owen Sound, ON)) doubled to left field with two outs, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a single by Brad Peck (Surrey, BC). After retiring Croatia in order in the second and third innings, the red and white added to its lead by scoring three runs in the bottom of the third. Taylor Brown (Centreville, ON) hit a one-out triple to left field and scored on a passed ball, followed by a pair of walks. Ty Sebastian (Brussels, ON) then delivered a two-run double to left to give Canada the 4-0 lead.
Croatia got their only hit of the game in the top of the fourth, but was unable to push the runner ahead and Canada shut down the offence over the last three innings to seal the win.
Bolton earned the win in the pitcher’s circle for Canada, allowing only one hit and striking out nine batters in five innings of work. Sebastian pitched the last two innings, striking out five of the six batters he faced without allowing a hit or a walk. Offensively, Peck and Taylor Schubada (Irma, AB) each had a pair of singles. Brown and Aidan Patrick (Prince Albert, SK) each had a triple, while Stuck and Sebastian added a double each to round out Canada’s eight hits.

Team Canada (2-1) will play a very important game against Japan (2-0) at 8:30am EST on Monday morning.
