ISF World Championships - HostingWednesday, September 05, 2012 Softball Canada is currently looking for possible hosts to bid for the following ISF World Championships;
2016 Senior Women’s
2016 Junior Men’s 2017 Senior Men’s 2017 Junior Women’s These Championships will all be following the new “Open” format of the International Softball Federation (ISF). Under this new process it is difficult to predict the number of teams that will be competing, as all countries are invited to send a team. The previous structure had allowed a maximum of 16 teams.
Under the new set-up, the overall financial obligations of the host have been significantly reduced. Softball Canada also wishes to shorten the length of these Championships. Junior events should ideally be seven (7) days while Senior events should ideally be eight (8) days.

Interested hosts are expected to send a letter to Softball Canada outlining their interest, the venue they propose to use, hosting experience and the names of the key organizers by October 31, 2012. A letter of support from their respective Provincial/Territorial association must also be included.
All potential host bids will be reviewed by the Board of Directors of Softball Canada. Those selected to go forward by Softball Canada will then need to prepare a bid package for the ISF, due in June, 2013. The ISF will ultimately select hosts for these events at their October, 2013 Congress in Colombia.
