About the Host

The game of FASTPITCH SOFTBALL in the Fredericton area is back!!! In 2006, the Fredericton DQ Boys Fastpitch Association (FBFA) was founded by a group of former fast pitch softball players, coaches and umpires with the goal of rejuvenating the game of fast pitch softball. The FBFA is committed to introducing the sport of fast pitch softball to players in a FUN and POSITIVE environment.

The FBFA has experienced an amazing increase in participation since its inception. The program started with 15 players and in 2010, as the organization celebrated our fifth year of existence, we had over 150 players registered. With this success, the FBFA has been recognized across Canada as a model for the revival of Fast pitch Softball.

The FBFA is committed to introducing the sport of fast pitch softball to players in a FUN and POSITIVE environment. The FBFA uses Softball Canada`s Learn to Play" (LTP) Program at the younger levels. This is an excellent starting point for children to learn the game of fast pitch softball and begin an active lifestyle. More information on the LTP program can be found at www.softball.ca.

Our younger teams play and/or practice 2 nights a week locally and will participate in provincial tournaments as well as the FBFA`s year end jamboree. Teams in the Peewee and Bantam age groups will play in Eastern Canadian tournaments and, for the first time, the FBFA program sent a representative to the Midget Boy`s Canadian Fast Pitch Championships in 2010.
