Game C1 of the 2011 Senior Mens Fastball Championships featured New Brunswick [4th] vs Newfoundland [1st] with Newfoundland winning 1-0.

 

Sean Whitten picked up the win going 6 innings gave up 3 hits 0 runs and struck out 7. Sean Cleary came on in the 7th and shut the door striking out 2. Justin Schofield had the Newfoundlander's guessing all night as he went 5 innings gave up 3 hits 1 run and struck out 7 batters. Brian Newton relieved him in the 6th and pitched a clean inning of relief.

 

Steve Mullaley's RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd was all the offense of the game. Shane Boland had the other 2 hits for Newfoundland. Jeremy Tracy notched 2 singles for New Brunswick.

 

WIth the win Newfoundland now plays the winner of Quebec and BC, tomorrow at 8pm. The loss makes New Brunswick fighting for their lives agianst the winner of Port Elgin and Kitchener, tomorrow afternoon at 3pm.
