New Brunswick stomps Selects 12-4 in 6

Game 16 of the 2011 Senior Mens Fastball Championships featured New Brunswick [1-2] versus the host Owen Sound Selects [2-1] with New Brunswick winning 12-4 in 6 innings.

Brian Newton recorded the win for New Brunswick going 6 innings giving up 5 hits, 4 runs and struck out 10 batters. Matt Leahy had the loss going 1.2 innings giving up 4 hits 6 runs 1 earned run and struck out one. Brother Luke Leahy relieved Matt, he went 3.1 innings gave up 3 hits 4 runs  and struck out 5. Jamie Simpson also came in and went 1 innings and gave up 2 runs.

Joel Isenor had a big day at the plate going 2-3 with a homerun and 4 RBI. Rene Goguen also had 2 hits in the victory. Brad Robinson, Joran Graham and Aaron Fraser all had homeruns for the Selects in a losing effort.

With the win New Brunswick evens up at 2-2 and will play Quebec tomorrow at 10am. With the loss Owen Sound moves to 2-2 aswell and will play the 4-0 Newfoundland team tomorrow at 2pm.

Day 3 overall storyline was how will Newfoundland be stopped. They have a great combination of hitting and pitching and I find it hard to believe anyone coming close to them they way they looked today versus 3-0 Quebec.
